Sync 3 is junk
Take it from somebody who just traded in his 2016 Taco, Toyota Etunes makes Sync 3 look like an electronic marvel. My 2016 XLT's system is a breath of fresh air. No issues or complaints. Other than an occasional voice recognition hiccup, it's been fine. I don't dispute the issues that people are having with sync, but be glad you don't have to contend with Etunes.
In fact everything about the truck makes getting rid of that Toiletota the best move I ever made.

The new Sync 3 is junk. Ford knows all the issues exists and admits it when you talk to their Sync Experts on the phone.
Yet they keep selling them without any concern if it works or not.

OK ALL -- For those of you that only read one or two posts and miss half the info
We bought TWO (2) 2016 F-150's
One works flawless
One has so many issues that even FORD is having trouble figuring out why.

Saying that the new Sync 3 is junk makes no sense when in a later post you say "One works flawless".
The thread title should read "My Sync 3 Is Junk".
With verbal accuracy like yours, one has to wonder about your conversations with Ford and the dealer.
Well, after seeing the title of this thread, I had to read it. I see what the problem is.

Until Ford fixes my system, I will continue to call it Junk
I was going to say the same as Cattle. MY sync 3 is perfect and is miles ahead of the My Ford Touch system of earlier models. For the most part Sync 3 gets really high opinions around here and around the web. It sounds like YOUR Sync 3 might have some issues and could be garbage. And yes, there may even be a few more people out there with your same issues.
I'm not really sure what you are aiming to get out of this thread since you seem to be arguing with people and just want to slam Ford for dropping the ball. Are you looking for others with issues? To get help? Just to vent? My suggestion is to take it to the dealer a few times and if it still doesn't get fixed, push for them to replace the head unit with a new one via your warranty. Your son having a perfect truck makes your case stronger for that.

What part didn't you read that the dealer has had it several times over the last 6 weeks???
They can't replace what Ford won't approve.
I would like to ask what other products any of you would purchase, works partially, and you wouldn't return for refund if they don't fix it
-and-
Be happy about dropping that much CASH and it doesn't work right
