Default Sync 3 Issues

2019 F150 Sync 3. Recently my Sync will not remember the wifi setting, every time I start the truck it asks to turn on Automatic Updates and Sync Diagnostics. I can confirm turning them on or switching them off, neither way makes a difference. Next screen is a confirmation if I turn them on, then the next screen is viewing networks. I can connect to a wifi, but if I shut the truck off, when I crank back up it won't connect to a wifi and the selection screens come back up. Has anyone come across this?

Yes, many of us have experienced these exact problems. It's probably also reverting you back to 2 preset radio screens even if you've set it to display 5.

The solution seems to be to upgrade to the newest Sync build, which I believe is 23188. You can download it through the Ford website and install it yourself with a USB stick.

There are a few threads about it, this is the most recent one.

Thanks Mr. Jimmy. I thought I was going to have to set it on fire! It was driving me nuts. I'm downloading to a USB now, I'll see what happens...

It took me about a half hour. My understanding is that the truck must be running the whole time so if you have a trip already planned, take advantage of that. Mine allowed me to still use all the Sync features (radio, map, etc.) while the update installed in the background.

A couple of us noted on that other thread that we had messages pop up during the process that seemed to indicate it was done. But it's really not - let it keep going until you get a screen message saying something to the effect of "you can now remove your USB stick". You'll have to turn off and restart the vehicle to complete the process.

Go to your Ford dealer for a master reset and update. Fixed mine.
