My 2016 XLT was built on the 8th of august 2016. I received a sync 3 manual with it and my owner information from motorcraftservice.com shows only sync3 manuals for the truck. Everything I've seen online shows the 8" screen for sync 3. What version of sync do I have? There is no sync (simple version) manual available for me when I look via the VIN number, only sync 3.

I'm aware of that link, but both sync and sync3 show available for a 2016 F150. Which do I have? Here are the guides available to me when I enter my VIN at the service site. It doesn't show a "sync" guide, only "sync3". The truck only came with a sync3 paper version as well.

It's the 4.2" screen in the center stack. no 8" screen anywhere. The VIN decoder is off as well on this site. It says 145" wb and it is definitely 157". I have the original window sticker and it just says "sync". I suppose it would show "sync3" if that is what was included. Just strange that all the manuals available are for sync3.
Pulled up the window sticker to verify, but you just have sync. That means voice commands and Bluetooth, but nothing else. If you want sync 3 you can get the screen/apim and harness adapter along with the trim ring and then you'll have the 8" touchscreen.
I know this is a very old thread, but I asked myself the same question. My window sticker only says SYNC, but the version numbers say SYNC 3. Also referring to the 4.2"center screen. SYNC3 Version 2.3.18095.
I have bluetooth connected, and have tried to get it to interface with FordPass 2.0. in the mobile apps in the sync(3?) it will never find FordPass while it is running on my phone.
So, I am assuming that I just have SYNC, and not SYNC3. So I am guessing that Vehicle Health Reports are NOT available in this congifuration.
Why is it showing SYNC3 though in the hardware menu?
