I've noticed in the last couple of weeks that my phone keeps reconnecting every so often and everything is very laggy. When I try to change the station using the steering wheel controls it will take a bit before it changes the station. Anybody else having this issue? Is there a way to reinstall 3.0 or even downgrade?

 

I have similar problems with SYNC 3 on my 2017 King Ranch. I am at 4,000 miles out of warranty and it looks like I will be buying a new APIM module. If your truck is still in warranty, take it to the dealer.

Which phone are you using? Are you using Car Play or Android Auto, or native Sync?

 

iPhone X. I don't use car play and it is just connected through Bluetooth.

 

Okay. Less of an issues then, but even on Bluetooth sometimes the device gets a little overwhelmed with everything running. I don't know much about Apple. I know that my 3 year old Android (Samsung S7 Edge) has a little bet of a problem keeping up sometimes, mainly because it is 3 year-old tech now.

 

Now that you mentioned it, my truck was in the body shop when I updated my phone to a new iOS. I only noticed these issues when my truck got out of the body shop. I wonder if the update is causing my issues? I guess I need to disconnect my phone and see if it clears up my steering wheel control delay.

 

Picked up my new xlt 2 weeks ago. I've paired my S9, everything works great with the Sync 3 except when a text msg comes in I don't have the option to view it, can only have it read to me. Checked all the setting on phone and Sync, getting the messages just can view them, the view option is there just not highlighted. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

 

 

That's correct. While driving you can only have it read to you.
