Default Switch to synthetic?

I have 62,000kms on my 2018. Always just gone to ford for oil changes but thinking maybe run full synthetic from now on and get it done at a local shop. Is there a determined best synthetic to run in the 2.7L engine?

It really doesn’t matter. Just keep fresh oil in there for the turbos. Stick to 5k intervals with whatever you run.

Personally, I’ve always used motorcraft 5-30 full synthetic as I order from Rockauto.

Often people will change to synthetic with the hope of longer intervals between oil changes. For me, my 2020 3.5 calls for 5-30 semi synthetic, and that's what I run. I simply change it around 4500 miles. Oil threads are full of opinions, my only advise is, whatever you run, change it close to 5000 miles (unless it idles a lot) and you will not have an oil related problem.

I've been using nothing but synthetic in everything I own with an engine for at least the past 30 years. My current preferred choices for my 3.5 eco are Quaker State Full Synthetic and Pennzoil Platinum. I prefer to use something that is readily available just about everywhere.

It's your money. Nobody ever died wishing they'd spent more money on oil changes.

When I replaced my engine 2 years ago my mechanic used full synthetic from the start. So for me I just kept getting it.
