OMG, no way the underside should look anything like that! I would demand a new truck!

If you're in the rust belt, it can absolutely look like that or even worse than that.

That's pretty good all things considering.

Id saw thats normal and just surface rust as well. My 2015 looked the same way after 4 years/95k miles and I religiously rinsed the underside weekly during salt season here in PA.

A wire brush and some rust reformer paint will clean that right up for you.

I use this to cover it. Just make sure there is no flaking or loose stuff first. Spary it on and drive away. It is a rust converter that changes the rust to something else.

Gee with rust that bad I wouldn't expect to get more than 20 years out of that truck! Relax, use some rust products to deal with it. Bigger question - how does the truck drive? Is the driver's seat in good condition? Will you be happy with the overall condition of the part of the truck you are going to see and use every day?

Thanks for all of the replies - Yes, the truck is from Pennsylvania, in the Phila area so it has seen some salt. Other than this rust, no body rust at all, no dents, dings or scratches. Truck is exactly what I was looking for for a price I'm happy with. Interior is spotless, runs great, has a sprayed bedliner and cover, 3.5 ECO with 3.55 gears. So while it won't be my daily driver, it will do all the truck stuff I need it to do like pull my 7,000 lb boat few times a year and do it while I'm comfortable
