Default SuperCrew payload breakdown

I've read quite a few posts regarding payloads and misleading manufactuer claims so I wanted to get a little assistance from someone with a similar truck configuration. Thanks in advance.

Im wanting to buy a 2015 f150 supercrew 6.5ft bed, 3.5 EB 4x4 lariat and looking for the real payload numbers of what I can haul (not manufactuers deceptive numbers).

I'm looking to haul (at times) at least 1500 lbs in the bed with 800 lbs of persons/gear in the cab. Is this realistic with my 4x4 supercrew config? Numbers please.

That's all you get for cargo AND people (they count against your payload). You're going to be way over carrying that much weight.

Well thats disappointing. So if you have 5 men (200lb avg), you can only have 500lbs of gear in the bed and/or truck? I know airbags just allow it to sit level, not to increase capacity, so what options if any are available to increase payload?

You can increase your payload by reducing some options. My XLT with 302A, SCrew, 4x4, 6.5' bed, max tow, has a payload rating of 1,743lbs.

You could go up to a F250 or 350. I know they're an entirely different vehicle, but it might be your only option with the amount of weight you want to carry.

I agree with the assessment that if you are going to try to haul 2300 lbs you need to look at HD trucks. This is true for all manufacturers-half tons simply aren't designed to carry that kind of weight (although ford gets the closest)

Those numbers I listed aren't absolute musts but I would like to get in the range if possible. I have thought about an F250 but I rarely actually need it and I work in a major city so the extra size is a disadvantage. What does the HD payload package change physically? I know the xlt package has the option, how much is payload increased?

I own a 2015 KR w/ 5.5 bed and haul loaded pallets on a daily basis with no passengers. Up to 800lbs. the truck sits somewhat level and handles great. At 1200lbs. the bed sits low the nose goes up but still drives good. I would think at 1500lbs. you may be pushing it. At the end of the week when I get to work I'll load up 1500lbs. take a test drive and post some pictures.

If you dont haul that load often enough to justify a 3/4 ton, how about a small utility trailer?
