Default Stubby Antenna?

Looking for a stubby antenna that will not hinder my FM reception and one that won't break off in the car wash.

I have a 12-14" metal one from a local parts store on mine. No decrease in FM reception from OEM one.

Be warned, you might get a whistle noise from an aftermarket antenna, I did and I've seen a couple other people on here say the same. It drove me crazy until I swapped mine out

The one I listed above is rubber and no whistle at all!

I like my stubby antenna by Trunknets, 6 1/2 inch from amazon.com. $16.95 Reception is good all across the city. Highway wise, after about 70 miles signal loss is much more pronounced than with the factory antenna. Going through the Texas hill country reception was about 50 miles clear reception. So far the car wash monsters haven't destroyed it.

Those stubby's are cool but aren't they also theft magnets, i.e. people unscrew them from your parked truck and run off ?

Santa will hopefully be bringing me a 27" factory oem style antenna for my STX, ordered from the eBay arm of AntennaSource.com. The factory antenna is 31" and scrapes on the garage door threshold when I put truck in garage.

However, I have heard one good function of the 31" factory antenna: if you go into parking garages or other low clearance areas, the 31" can act as a curb feeler of sorts. You hear it start to scrape, then there's a chance your roof could be next.

I second the Rydonair like bob_mac mentioned. I've tried multiple types of "stubbys" and have settled on that one, bough one for the wifes Jeep as well. It's the only one I've had with no noticeable reception loss.

Another vote for this one. No noticeable difference in reception and no whistle.

This is also the reason for me wanting to switch out, hitting the garage when i pull in. i have considered pulling up to the garage and just cutting the factory one so it just clears. this will still give me a "curb feeler" as you call it.
