Default Strange function reset

I bought my 2015 SCrew Lariat new in March 2015. Upon getting home I set all of the truck's settings to my personal preference. Drove the truck last night and all doors didn't unlock when I opened/unlocked the door; I had to unlock the passenger door so the wife could get in. I just came back in from checking the truck settings. It had reset itself to open the driver's door only, so I switched it back to open all doors and it's working correctly again. I haven't noticed any other changed settings. Talk about weird after 7 years and 47k miles of ownership!

Maybe a sign the battery going bad? Glitchy electronics are a sign.

That thought crossed my mind and I am still on the original OEM battery, but I think it's unlikely for only this one user selected menu choice to go wacky. No other issues of any kind noted, and I am very familiar with what happens when battery voltages start getting low.

Module resets can cause the IPC to revert just the related setting(s) because it doesn’t detect the module on the CAN bus for a moment and reverts the setting to default. I would personally replace the battery for piece of mind, 7 years is a long time for a battery to service a vehicle with as many electronics as these have. Gone are the days of “if the starter fires the battery is fine”.

Yep, well aware of that. It's been periodically put on a battery maintainer and had the SOC reset each time it was topped off. Also well aware batteries mostly just give up the ghost today instead of giving warning signs like slow cranking, thanks to the computer controlled, high voltage ignition systems.

I am going to play the battery life out further unless more oddball things start happening. Got a $900 set of tires coming in for the wife's car so would rather wait a couple months before dropping $200 on an AGM battery. Not that I have to, but I prefer to not have a much larger than normal credit card bill to pay off at the end of the statement period. I haven't carried a balance for 25 or 30 years and won't start now. I will try to remember to come back to update the thread if anything happens any time soon.

I believe non-unlocking passenger side door is one of the first symptoms (actually indicators) of low battery status.

How about being a gentleman, and opening your wife's door for her?

Oh, I often do, which leaves me to enter through a locked, passenger side, door...

BadAV. See by your posts 2015 and AGM battery. Must be 2.7 with S/S system. Suggestion: Have S/S system on. Set instrument panel information screen to TAB "Fuel Economy" with the
"Auto StartStop status". While driving around it should indicate Normal engine status, when you stop (S/S system engages) IF your battery is near end of life (ie - going to be bad soon) the S/S system will not allow the engine to shut off because the battery cannot be relied upon to start the engine again. This is nice early SIGN to get a new battery.
