Default Strange A/C issue

For the last 7 weeks I have been using the 'auto' function of the A/C system on my 2017 Lariat. When it was not cold enough, I would dial the temperature down and when it was too cold dialing it back up fixed things. Pretty sure I have an automatic climate control system.

This morning while on a trip home, I noticed that I was sweating and kept lowering the temperature. Got it down to 65 indicated before we stopped for lunch but never noticed it really cooling off. After lunch, started up and got HOT air blowing out the vents. Pressed the MAX button and got lots of hot air blowing out the vents. Pressed the A/C button and got no change. Looked around for a way to get ambient air (around 74 degrees) into the cab and no joy. Turned everything off and then pressed the auto button and got no change then the A/C button and started getting cool air.

Do I have a problem that needs to be visited by a technician or am I just plain stupid? Had company so my language was constrained.

I've never used the auto function partially because I'm too lazy to read the manual on how works. The other reason is because mine sits on the coldest setting most of the year or it's on about 75.

When the system is off and then turned on (by pushing the auto button) the AC light should automatically turn on.

Dial the temp **** all the way down and see if it starts to cool. If it doesn't you have an AC problem and yes, I'd take it in. Make sure you are not on individual control-or turn both temp ***** all the way down.

I didn't understand the OP, but assuming the AC isn't working as designed, then yes I'd take it in.

Not sure if it's the same thing, but there was a tsb at least for the 16's for the AC randomly not working.

Haven't experienced your issue but I've noticed something, or at least I think I have. Bought my truck in April of this year and have been running A/C basically on "Lo" to maybe 65 during the summer and it's always blown cold. Now since temps have dropped if I even have it on 62 it is blowing fairly warm. I find this odd that the temp inside seems to be changed by ambient air temperature and not 62 is 62 regardless of outside temperature. Anyone else notice this? I know 62 feels good when it's 90 but it definitely shouldn't feel hot when it's 40. Maybe I'm crazy.

Thanks. That sounds like what I experienced and hoped to hear about. Will check with dealer.
