Default Stereo Install Quote

I live in Bremerton, Wa and my options are slim. There's a Car Toys, Best Buy, Xteme Audio, and Autoglass Clinic & Mobile Radio. I went with Car Toys route last time and they did a custom hidden fiberglass box for a 10" in the back side wall of my old 08' SS Trailblazer. It looked good, but when they did my door speakers they busted a tab or 2 and didn't replace or tell me so I'm going to pass on them this time around.

Autoglass Clinic & Mobile Radio have the best reviews (the few there were out of all of them) and got a quote of $650 for a custom enclosure to house my 2 shallow 10" JL TW3's BEHIND my rear seat. I also requested a quote to install the rest of my equipment (Parrot Harness, JL HD750 Mono Amp, JL FIX 86, Polk Components and 2-ways and a Polk 800W 4ch. Amp) and add sound dampening in the doors, floor, and backwall. They came back with everything including the custom box at "around $1,200-$1,500 for installation, box, and material."

Does this sound like a legit price or is it too high? I know nothing about installation and have a 3 yr old running around so I have no time to even consider tackling this on my own. On a side note, I'm a ferry boat away from Seattle or 45 min outside Tacoma if there is any place out there anyone could recommend. This will be going in a 2017 Screw XLT Sync 3 w/Nav, NO Sony. Thanks for the input.

I don't think that is out of line for the parts and labor. Hopefully they know about getting the line level out via forscan from the rear sub output. That should make for a much cleaner setup.

I got a Fix 86 so that shouldn't be a problem regardless (hopefully), but I appreciate the feedback. Thanks.

That sounds like a decent price. A good stereo installer can command whatever price they want. This is one of those cases where you really do get what you pay for. You'll want to make sure they are calculating the volume of that box correctly. Does that price include tuning the system for you?

Polk 400 watts amp, my bad, it's good for 125 watts RMS x 4.

I'm north of Seattle but I would not drive down there for work. Seattle blows. Everything is already so expensive there. Labor costs for any shop are already higher there in Seattle with their minimum wage being so high. Skip Seattle...

No, you were right the first time. It will do 200 watts x 4 into 4 - 2 ohm speakers. 125 watts per channel to 4 ohm loads.

With all that's involved, I would say that is a fair price.
