Default Static in passenger side speaker

Anyone else besides me get static in speaker on passenger side when engine is off but power on? It goes away once I start it.

Yep. A few of us have. I've had my speaker replaced. Didn't fix the problem.

I have it. Dealer also replaced speaker; didn't fix it. They want me to bring it in again for a day of trouble shooting. Goes away when I turn engine off and leave it in aux. mode. Let me know if your dealer figures it out!

effJuanSchfifty & utahjazzman:

Did either of you get the speaker static issue resolved. Mine's at the dealer today and they're going to look into it some more. I'm convinced it's related to the fake EB V6 engine noise; either a short in the head unit or in maybe not grounded to the engine. etc.

I passed this info to my dealer:

autos-tart the truck: no static

press brake on start button to drive: static

press start button to turn off motor: no static

press start button again (without foot on brake): static

I've got this sinking feeling it's more than the local tech can figure out! :-(

Mine has not been resolved yet. I too don't have confidence my local shop will be able to diagnose the root cause

If the static goes away when you turn the engine off, that's a pretty significant indicator that it's not the speaker.

You can prove this out by simply swapping with another speaker in the vehicle.

Did anyone check the speaker connections at BOTH ends? Did anyone check the engine grounds? Chassis grounds? Stereo grounds? Antennae ground?

Has this been resolved for you yet? Mine is still doing it and I'm trying to find any resolution I can.

Hey guys,

Please shoot me a PM verifying the year and mileage of your rigs; I'll see how I can help out.

The fake engine noise may be a good bet; I have the 5.0 (real engine noise) and I have never noticed this.
