Default Start issue with 700mi?!

I have a new F150 XLT superb with 3.3 V6 and 700 Miles. This morning I turned the key, the instruments came on. Continued to the start position and a THUNK. This happened several times. Truck did start on the 5th try. Any ideas?

Nothing but guesses from me but my money is on a bad starter/solenoid.

I'd take it to the dealer, hopefully they'll be able to replicate the problem.

Be sure and update what the problem was.

I called the service department ( open on Saturday ) and was told that they're unable to make a diagnosis if the event is not currently happening. There are no stored codes. So I will have no answer unless it happens again. Also there is no way to document this in a note of record.

It sort of sucks they will not look at it, but I understand why. If I where in your shoes I would record it if it happens again, make sure to get odometer in the shot. Then show the service writer the video and ask to have it sent to Ford Corporate. Also post it here so you may be able to get a little more guidance.

New development. My check engine light came on. today. Ford Service diagnosed it as a miss fire in No. 4 cylinder. They have scheduled it in for next Tuesday. They think something simple like a spark plug or coil. The engine is running smooth.
