Default Squeaky Steering Wheel

My steering wheel has always squeaked when I do short turns. I normally have the radio on and do not let it bother me, but is it safe to assume it will quiet deal as I drive it more? I have less than 800 miles on the truck so far.

Am I the Lone Ranger on the is one?

Cheers.

I have test driven three XLTs and one Lariat. Two of the four had a squeak/squeal, of some sort, in the column.

A trusted mechanic i know said a squeaking wheel usually indicates some problems in the power steering system, and if it's coming from the front end of the car, it might have something to do with the suspensions. It can mean you need more power steering fluid, or could be a lose belt or bad pump. He said if the squeaking comes like it's from the front, with some vibrations or clicking, it could be a problem with suspension ball joints or bushings. Either way, it's still better to check.

The squeaks i hear are in the cabin and with the steering wheel.

Have you had your dealer take a look at this, IndianaDanO? Please let me know; I'll get a case escalated for further assistance. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealer, and best daytime contact number.

My steering wheel squeaks also. Sounds like a rubber on rubber sound inside the cab when I turn. I have noticed it only appears after running the a/c on cold for 20 min or so. Less than 500 miles so I was going to see if it loosened up with some use.

Default Same with mine

I have over 6,700 miles on my truck and I've just now started the squeaky steering wheel. Seems to occur when it's hot out. I've mentioned it to my dealer and they will have a look the next time I'm in for an oil change.

I may be wrong but I thought that the power steering is all electric, no fluid or pumps on the 2015's

My 2015 Lariat started doing it at about 5000 miles as well. It isn't very loud but certainly annoying

Anyone know if the dealer has a fix for this?
