Spray-in bed liner Mod problem

Spray-in bed liner Mod problem
I need some opinions on whether you all think this is an issue or not.
I damaged the tailgate of my brand new truck. When I went to get an estimate, I was told I could have it repaired for $1300 or replaced for $1700. I decided to go with the new option and was assured that it would be the same, no difference. In other words, nobody would ever be able to tell that it had been replaced. This was clearly a mistake as you can see from the picture. Now they are telling me that it will fade with the sun and should match in the future.
I stopped by another dealership to ask if this would devalue the truck. I was told that the color difference wouldn’t devalue the truck, what would devalue the truck is everyone knowing that it had been in a wreck.
I’d appreciate some opinions here: A) Am I making too big of a deal about this or should I really be upset? B) Do you think this devalues my truck?
Thanks,
John

Hm. I think that's a valid concern. Maybe the sun will beat on it and get the gloss down to matte?

Also, definitely keep that documentation. If you damaged your bedliner and it was NOT in a wreck, your papers could help you prove that to a would-be consumer.

Well before I give my response, it looks to me that the spray in liner on the tailgate, is COMPLETELY different from the bed. (The texture....not the fact that it's shiny). That being said, yes I think I would worry about it too. If the Bedliner was the exact same, it would in fact fade over time, and eventually match the existing bed. However, I don't see that happening with this setup. Just my .02

What kind of bed liner has faded that much on a new truck??
If its line-x or rhino they have sprays that can return the liner to new shine and would help the 2 match.
I agree with the dealer though, its the accident that went on your car fax that killed your value, not so much the 2 tone spray liner that will fade to match.

He didn't say he'd been in an accident.

Thanks. And yes, stupid me backed up with the tailgate down while towing my boat. The wheel jack dented the gate, thus the need to be repaired or replaced. I chose the latter, again assuming it would be an exact match.
Thank you all for the opinions, keep them coming! (rarely do I ever say that!!!) LOL

You're right, i assumed he was.
Unless the work went on your carfax i wouldnt actually worry about it at all. 2 Tone or not isnt going to really impact value as no one knows why it was fixed, could just be a defective initial liner install.

Beer, Boats, and Trucks.
those are definitely two different types of liners, neither of which look like Line-X. I wouldn't bet on them ever looking the same
