Default Speedo

Hey guys. New here. Had f150's my whole life. Recently traded in my 09 screw with the 5.4. Had the cam phaser issues. But anyway. Got a 15 screw black xlt sport package. With the 2.7 Eco. She's a beast! But my speedo keeps acting up. I'll post some pictures and you can see for yourself. Has anyone been able to resolve this problem?

There have been a couple of posts with others that have the exact same issue. Seems that the only real fix has been a cluster replacement from Ford.

Keep us posted, and congrats on the new truck!

Mine did the same thing, from recommendations on here, I unhooked the battery ground for 15 mins, I was very skeptical, but it worked! Been a few thousand miles since and it hasn't happened again, knock on wood...

My 2015 is doing the same thing. Just over 10,000 km, reading about 25 KPH over. I will have to try the disconnecting the battery since that is what the dealer said to try for the failed Sync update which I have not done yet. Maybe kill 2 birds with one stone. Gee, why don't they just have a main disconnect or reset button if this is going to be an ongoing thing
Reminds me, if I am ever on life support, try unplugging and plug it back in.

what's the first response you get from the IT guy when you have a computer / printer issue? "restart it and see if it fixes it"

our trucks are no different these days

Yup mine just started doing this yesterday out of the blue. I was driving down the on the interstate where speed limit was 80 mph and I was getting past by every vehicles on the road like I was standing still. I was exactly 15 mph off when I figured out what was going on. When I shut the engine off the speedo only went down to 15 mph instead of zero. Then later it was off by 8 mph. It was kinda all over the place as far as how much speed was off each time I stopped the truck off for any extended time then restarting it back up. I had planned on bring it into dealer after calling them but this morning when I started the truck speedo was reading correctly. I dont want to bring the truck in if speedo is not in broken state because I know the dealers wont do anything unless they can duplicate it. My truck will end up sitting in the shop all day and will get a call from them saying we found nothing wrong come get your truck. I wish this damn thing would just break so I can bring it in. Otherwise this issue can get very irritating. I had really bad experience with my 14 F150 while I owned it for one year with so many issues. I hope this truck will not give me the same griefs.

My truck is 2015 F150 Screw 2.7, Eco, 4X4, 3.73 rear, payload-FX4-Sport pkg, with 6500 miles.

I think you guys should start posting this issue on the police forums, that way when you get a speeding ticket, they will be aware of the electrical glitches with the new Ford trucks, and perhaps, they can list Ford as the entity in violation of the speed laws?

My speedo issue occurred when I set the cruise control at 74 but the speedo said 59 when I clicked it in. I tried to restart the process on the highway but the same issue. Once I stopped for gas and shut the truck off then back out on the highway everything was correct again. It has been fine since. Truck has less than 5K on it.

Well I never go to try the battery disconnect. After a day, each day the speedo would drop a few, the rested about 2 KPM above 0, then this morning it was sitting on 0 and speedo matched the digital display.
I hate it when you cant trust a gauge. The only upside, it seems from all the complaints is it will always read higher than what you are doing, and if you check before you start rolling, you should have an idea how much it will be out, if it is out today.
