Default Speed Limiter

Hey guys I have a quick question. Today I had the opportunity to do some straight line runs with my 2.7 EcoBoost. We were on an old runway complex that was straight & smooth, better yet not on a public road.....To my surprise my speedometer hit 100mph, then kept climbing & climbing until I felt compelled to let off (because I wanted adequate slow down distance) at 117mph as indicated by my digital readout. I of course was skeptical & on my next run I had my Garmin GPS on also, it read a top speed of 119mph before I let off of it, my digital speedo in the truck again read 117mph. Is this for real ? Where is the factory speed limiter or is there not one ? My 2010 F150 would cut out at 98mph. Did Ford somehow screw up with the calibration file in my truck ? My build date is April 2015 for my truck. My wife drives a new 2015 Edge Sport AWD with the 2.7 EcoBoost (kinda mad her vehicle is faster than mine....lol) After doing some research I found that Ford sets the speed limiter on her Edge Sport at 135mph.....that's crazy. So just wondering where is the speed limiter on ours set at ? Searching comes up with like 4 different answers. I've read everything from 110, 115 & 120. So does anybody know for sure ? I know mine for a fact will do at least 117mph (I'm taking the lowest of the 2 readings I got) as confirmed by a GPS unit. Am I just a special case.....lol

Bumping for you as I don't know. I know my tuner allows me to turn the speed limiter off but not sure what the factory settings are for your year.

I've been around there too and found it surprising that it didn't cut the fuel like our old 97 F150 does...at 96mph.

What is top speed, with proper tires, when you remove the speed limiter

I was curious, the tires that came on my truck (Hankook Dynapro's) are T speed rated which is 118mph so I canno imagine it is much above that if at all...
