Speaker upgrade
I use too. But my factory stereo in my Dodge Charger sounds Amazing. It is alpine but no sub. I would be happy if it was on par with it
Actually I believe that is a good answer. I did just that. After some due diligence to educate myself on what would work best ( down to 2 ohm, high efficiency) I looked up on Crutchfield's site what would work with the existing head unit and fit the doors. All their kits are inclusive, so you get the mounting plates, gaskets and adapter harness, no messing around searching to make things work. The cost was more than competitive after factoring in the add-ons. I bought just before Black Friday and had them in three days. They advertised a Black Friday sale just after delivery which they honored when I informed them. All in and with a Kicker Hidaway sub w/harness I'm way below the $399 that the JBL package seems to be going for. I chose these for front and rear replacement: Infinity Reference REF-6532ex, Infinity Reference REF-9633ix.
my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee sounds way better than my F150 did .. some factory systems have good midbass and they give nice balance to a system.
can it work? sure it can.. but you could have also bought a VW Phaeton because you liked the way it looked. You went in blind especially when you're buying from online retailers .. its not a good thing when you have the ability to ask actually owners and get recommendations. The hot component set on this forum is the Morel Tempo .. I don't personally have a pair but it seems to work well in the F150 sound stage. Its recommended over and over and owners come back giving it high praise. Blind leading the Blind is why so many people have full JL Audio setups for double the price of what they could have for something that sounds better
If you do not have a Morel tempo system I don't see how you could bark about how great it is, let alone disparage another's choice. Going off someones say so or because it's the latest "hot set up" isn't much of a recommendation. No two people will hear the same from any sound source. A bit of blind leading the blind on your part I'd say.
I have a Grand Cherokee Summit with a system that is head and shoulders above an F150 but it's much more extensive and thoroughly engineered, not to mention costly.
I didn't get an F150 for looks, It's a tool I use to pull a travel trailer but I do spend a good amount of time on the road with it. I hardly went in blind, I'm an accomplished electronics tech and have been collecting, restoring and building vacuum tube / high efficiency stereo systems for 25 years. I can discern good from mediocre to bad playback. However I wasn't looking for a high end stereo, nor a bass heavy ear deafening thump that is considered "good stereo" these days, just something I could be happy with.

How do i know Morel Tempo is a good setup? well 10 people were recommended it, 10 people said it sounded great. It doesn't take more than basic intelligence to understand what a survey is and how its results can help someone.
Again blind leading the blind if you suggest to someone to go into best buy and pick a TV without any suggestion on the differences or features then the person is going to pick the first one that looks good, maybe even pick one that doesn't have 4k or smart features and that person is going to go home and feel great, but may go over their brother in law's house and see something similarly priced with all the nice to haves they could have had being that they were not blind going to best buy to just look at TV's.
Anyone with any real car audio intelligence will tell you going to Crutchfield to browse and pick speakers is ridiculous .. first of all you are over paying for the same exact product you could get here from @HushCarAudio with the same warranty and probably less customer service.
Its hard to argue with "experts" as yourself .. you think you know everything and in fact you only know what you know but what you know isn't much to begin witth
You went on offense first.
The finger points back to you.
With that I'm done with your nonsense, so there isn't a need to respond

I got got the JBL concert series “upgrade”. It does sound good, and is definitely better than the stock junk. It is, however, grossly underpowered. The best part about the JBL concert series is the harness that runs all the way to the rear of the cab.
Crutchfield has excellent customer service and technical support for selection and installation that best fits the clients needs and budget. A heck of a lot better than general public comments and opinions.
