Default Speaker/tweeter info?

2015 XLT Sport 302A w/out Sony
Front doors: JBL GX963 3-ways.
Adding 45w x 4 amp.

My question is: how is the a-pillar tweeter hooked up to the front speaker? Don't replace tweeters with better ones?

I was advised by crutchfield that I should not replace the front tweeter after I put in the JBL's because that would cancel the highs coming from the efficient 3-way and only be sent to tweeter.

They recommended disconnect tweeter for use of only 3-way JBL, or replace doors with components.

Any advice?

I'd disconnect the tweeter. Or like Crutchfield said, use components which should give you slightly better sound overall.

The A-pillar tweeters are hooked in parallel with the front door speakers

Put a quality tweeter in the a-pillars and you won't regret it, best sound upgrade you can do. I have Polk 3way 6x9 in the door with Polk 1" tweeters in a-pillars and it sounds great to me. The tweeters need to be up high to really work well.

I have a 7 speaker 8" non-Sony. I installed a set of 2-way speakers in the front doors last year and now would like to replace the tweeters. I installed the little Pioneer amp that behind the head unit an now the tweeters are amplified. Any way, I will be purchasing tweeters this week. Would I connect a capacitor or crossover to the tweeter at the a-pillar? I saw a video a while back that someone did that and it fit next to the tweeter.
