Default Sony Wiring Schematic

Anyone have schematics yet for the speaker level inputs for the Sony Amp? Don't want to be tapping for signal after the amp. Need to pick up the signal from the main head unit to the amp.

Thanks,

Doubt there are speaker level inputs on the Sony amp. It's probably all line level. As it's a factory OEM solution it wouldn't make sense to put in amp in the head unit and then an amp later.

What he says! Gotta leave the amp in there to upgrade unless you went with a new head unit. Same as the 2014's

Sorry, not explaining myself very well. We need a schematic to show the inputs "full range" signal from the head unit to the Sony amp. Running an aftermarket DSP, you want to pick up the signal after the head unit and not after the Sony amp. If trying to pick up the signal after the Sony amp will be less desired. Why? Because we would be adjusting and compensating for the SONY DSP built into the amp that is processing the signal to the speakers. Time Alignment, Crossovers and equalization.

We are much better off picking up the full range signal at the head unit since this is less likely to be completely processed. All we would need is a single left/right full range signal into our DSP's. After that, we can do whatever we want. 2-way, 3-way...etc....etc. Make sense? The SONY amp would stay in place for functionality purposes for whatever else runs through it.

Makes complete sense. Wish I understood it like you do!

Will definitely be following this thread.

Not sure about the amplified system but it might be the same as non amped... For the regular sync radio without amp you can grab the leads either behind the cd player or the clips near the kick panels up front. Left front is white/brown and white. Right front is white/orange and white/purple. The harness clips are both white if I remember right. Driver side is behind the kick panel and passenger is under/behind the glove box.

Forgot about the rears. Once again you can grab them behind the CD player or where the go into the door. Just remove the B-pillar and it's too easy. Forget which is which but the colors are brown/blue and brown/white for one side and brown/yellow and white/green for the other.
For both the fronts and tears, the wires are twisted together to distinguish them in the factory harnesses so easy to figure out once you have the right harness.
There is also a center channel behind the CD player grey/yellow and light green.

This suggestion is half answering what he wants and half giving him the answer he doesn’t want.

The wires you told him to tap into by the kick plate and pillars are the lines running FROM the amp to the speakers. He’s looking to get into the line FROM Head Unit TO the amp. He’s looking for either the Pin Out of the the Head Unit or the Pin In for the Sony Amp.

I too need this as tapping into the amps outputs is really the dumbest thing you could do. Defeats the entire purpose of purchasing... really anything.
