I am not sure about others, but I find the Homelink on this truck does not work very far away. I have to be turning into my driveway which is only 25 feet long (live on a corner lot) before it opens. My last truck would work two house lengths away (approx. 180 feet).

Anyone else with this issue?

Not new, my 2011 Edge, 2004 F-150, and 2005 Excursion work the same way.

Exactly. My 2010 F-150 does the same thing.

I suspect that Ford has not been swamped with complaints about this "problem". Probably because it is a non-issue for most people, since Ford vehicles have been this way for over 10 years.

if your worried about security you need to make sure your garage house door has an alarm on it as well as your front and back doors.....

not that it should be able to, just saying its not that big a security breach as you are thinking...

are you sure it works even after everything is off? have you had someone without the key sit in the truck, shut everything off, locked it so it goes into secure mode and had them try it?
This is true... I have hacked my own garage door opener just to see if I can. I installed my own alarm system and have a switch on the garage door and I park in the garage. Best of both worlds I guess.

Nissans are always on also. Not seeing the big deal here.

What's a start button...

I'm looking at getting a battery tender because of the low battery warning I get often, I use my vehicle every few weeks.

I've had very good luck using a solar charger for this purpose.

Unfortunately, since my truck is in the garage that doesn't help. My local drives of 20 minutes or less don't seem to help the warning, and I don't make the longer drives often enough to avoid the warning. Got new cell phones and the radio wouldn't stay on long enough to add them to Sync, had to start the truck. Very, very annoying, but the truck does start every time I go to use it.

if it sits that long, you can run the solar panel out from the garage to the side of the house outside, its a really small wire.
