Software update
Hi all. I did not want to start a new thread for this question. So playing around with the Ford Pass app on my cell phone. (New 2019 XLT). Unlocked the doors, did the remote start. So how is it working?
I did not sign up for the free 3 month ATT service. Did not connect/pair the truck router to my cell phone, or home router. Did nothing (other than sync to my cell phone Blue tooth to the trucks' blue tooth). So how is my cell phone "connecting" to my truck. Any ideas ?

I just want to explain a little more on the APP saying its updating and unavailable. My comments are based on educated guesses and experience with other systems. Think of it like this...the modem is a cell phone. Providers push updates to phones on a semi regular basis. The same thing happens for vehicle data modems. While I don't have direct knowledge that AT&T is doing this with the Ford TCU other providers do it for other vehicle modems (Verizon and Smartlink for one when it was operational). So ATT&T pushes the update, the modem isn't available for use during this short time just like you can't use your phone while its doing the actual update. Makes sense to me.
