Yep. Caveat emptor. Looking under the hood or just at the dealer's summary should have told you the second truck had a different engine, and that's your responsibility to check and verify those kinds of things before you accept the deal. Live and learn.
Just the same, there is nothing wrong with the 2.7 Ecoboost you bought. I think it's been pretty well established that both the 2.7 and 3.5 EB's are fine engines, and the performance difference, unless you're towing heavy loads, is all but non-existent.

Well one of the reasons I wanted the 3.5 is because it has has more horsepower and torque and eventually I'm going to put some rims and tires on the truck. I figured I might lose some of the torque and power because of the tires but it wont be too big of a notice. Now that I found out I have the 2.7 with a little less horsepower and torque i'm concerned that once I do put on the rims and tires that there will be a big notice of loss of horsepower and torque and pickup. I looked under the hood to see if it said like 2.7 or 3.5 echoboost on the motor but at all it said was echoboost.

Forum threads that start with 'So I was' are invariably entertaining.
I doubt you were lied to. Agree the salesman was clueless. But so were you, since you did zero due diligence prior to making a major purchase. The dealer owes you nothing. In fact, you signed a paper that says exactly that.
I would also like to hear more about your previous 'echo' boost. I'm not familiar with that engine.

Yeah, funny it just says 'ecoboost' on the engine cover... unless Ford uses the same darn cover on both engines, which is possible. But there're 2 easy ways to find out which engine you have: first is on the white label under the hood to the left, towards the bottom of it. It says '3.5L group'. And second is with a VIN decoder. I think this forum has one; you just post your VIN, and then click on it after posting.

I have yet to see anyone complain about their 2.7 falling on its face when passing someone, and by now all those earlier bugs have been worked out. Go way back to 2011 and look at all the complaints about the 3.5, and compare them to the complaints on the 2.7 during it's first two years, the 3.5 having been in service for 9 years now, and 2.7 for 3. Not saying the 2.7 is problem free, but compared to when the 3.5 came out, far fewer issues.
Those aren't stats. This is the 2015+ forum, why are we going back to 2011?
The 2.7TT owes everything to the 3.5TT as it paved the way. Ford has learned a great deal since introducing the 3.5TT and put everything they learned into the 2.7TT which is why it's been a pretty good engine right out of the gate.. The Gen II 3.5TT has been very good since it's introduction because what they learned since the original introduction of the Gen I 3.5TT. The 3.5TT in the current gen trucks has been a good engine. IMO it's been as reliable as the 2.7TT
Stats anyone?
OP: Your recourse is going back to the dealer and talking to the GM . It's the only way this can be made right.
