Default Snowball effect?

Have an 18 F150 Lariat and since the first snow I can only describe this as the snowball effect.
Essentially snow seems to build up on the hood and "throw" at the windshield.
Obviously cleaning the hood before starting will help avoid this but it seems to occur even while driving and the build-up that you get during that time. Also did notice it less snow with rain/wet snow. Maybe its call something else but when I searched forums couldn't find anything about this.
Anyone else have same concern? Found anything that helps with it?

Others have fixed it by installing a bug deflector.

There are many threads about water coming up in a similar manner.

Seems fairly common as mentioned.

Options seem to be:
bug deflector
wax
brush it off
