Default Snow Plowing

While a snowplow package is not available on the higher-end models, does anyone know if we will still be able to add a snowplow to a king Ranch or platinum? While I'm not buying this truck for snowplowing, I thought it be nice to be able to buy a plow to do my own driveway. It sucks to see snowplows on other half ton pick ups and yet you can't have it on this one. My friend's snowplowing company even has a plow on an avalanche.

Supposedly, the snow plow is only available with the 5.0 v8

I'm getting the 5.0 in my Platinum. Just wondering if it still will do light duty plowing without being able to get the snow plow pkg.

I know the Avalanche Came in 3/4 ton (2500) just like the Suburban. I've seen plows on a lot of F150's, other 1/2 tons, jeeps and other vehicles that are probably run against manufacturer recommendations.

Ford has a Snow Plow Package option for F150?

I know you can get one for the Superduties, but never saw one for the F150.

Ya, only on some trim lines with the 5.0. It gives you the option to focus electrical power on the plow, by disabling some features on the truck when your plowing.

Exactly.

Chevy 1500: base regular cabs only.

Ram 1500: not available.

Avalanche: discontinued, but was 3/4 tons only.

F-150: up to Lariat mid-range.

While the Lariat is the not the highest end truck, Ford is making their plow prep package the most available. So if you must have it, you can get it in a nicer truck. If it's not a must have, then you can skip this option.

you can mount a plow on anything. tahoe, yukon,f150,ford ranger,etc...

frame mounts are available. the plow package makes splicing into the wire harness easier. but if you know of a shop that does plows its not hard to have done without a plow package. if your worried about springs put 1" level kit on it.
