Default Snap Rings On Leveling Struts

I have been back and forth on leveling blocks and leveling struts... I see the Bilstein 5100 and 6112 series struts a lot. My only concern is the snap rings... It doesn't seem very sturdy keeping the weight of the engine / truck and the preload of the suspension on such a small component...

My question i who here has had issues with them? I have searched for this topic but only seem to see them on other brand forums...

I am not aware of any issues. The strut spring lower mounting collar covers the snap ring when it is installed so it would be difficult for it to come unseated.

I noticed that as well. I just did a quick google search and came across a few instances of this happening. Some of the struts did look pretty worn and rusted so I can't place all of the blame on the rings there.

This setup is used on tons of vehicles, from trucks to track day cars to industrial applications. Rust or improper installation would be the only way to have a failure.
