Default sl electric brake controller

I have a 2015 F150 XL 2.7 V6 twin turbo. There is a small cubby just below the 4 wheel drive switch, I assume this is where the OEM brake controller went. I have the tow package but didn't get the OEM controller installed, $500, too much. I will get an after market controller. Question is, does that cubby pop out to get the plug attached to the rear of the box or do I have to remove the dash to get at it?
Thanks for the help.

You have to remove some parts of the dash. YouTube has several tutorial videos on how to do this. You can buy the factory brake controller online for less than a good aftermarket controller like a Prodigy but you do have to get the dealer to turn on the factory brake controller. There are lots of threads here on this topic.

The OEM controller was only about $150 for me. You may want to give your local parts counter a call.

look on tasca parts website http://www.tascaparts.com/ford/f-150...me=switch-assy they don't show it on the 2.7 but it's the same.

I'd go OEM and use Forscan to activate.

Head back out to the 2015 - Present forum page. The Stickies are the threads that are stuck to the top of the thread list. Every forum section has Stickies. Some have rules (such as Trades & Sales), some are just really helpful threads that have commonly-asked questions and answers in them.
