Default Sirius XM renewal

My free 6 month subscription ended about 28 days ago. I ignored Sirius's request for renewal at $94.00 for six months until they called and left a message on my voicemail today.

Called them back and told them I am not interested in a renewal at the $94.00 price. I can get most of what they offer via Pandora for free and mostly ad free as well.

He put me on hold for a minute and came back with $70.00. Nope not interested.

He put me on hold again for 5 minutes, while he went outside to smoke a cigarette I guess, and came back with $41.00. They already know how low they can go, they don't need to check with anyone.

I was going to offer $47.00, but he never asked me what I wanted to pay. So I took the $41.00 and no automatic renewal.

I just got a renewal offer in the mail shortly after my free sub expired.

It was $30 for 6 months....

No haggling.... Even still, it went in the trash.

I'm guessing that you are not a long time customer of Sirius. That was the offer I received when I first became a customer after my first free subscription.

I have been a customer for about 8 years.

The only reason I want the service is for the news and comedy channels. With pandora it is now just for the news channels.

For the last three months, we've been getting weekly mailings and emails for $25/6 months. Since my wife and I bought our vehicles at the same time, I'm wondering if they'd be willing to do a package deal for both of us @ $100/year...? I haven't called yet. But I would also insist on NO automatic renewal!

I get Sirius for Elvis Radio... Sucks, the rate from 24.99, for 6 months to 30.00. But, oh well..

OP, you can do better. When mine was expiring in August, they offered 6 months for something like $28. I actually went for a more expensive option ($54 for 6 months) that included internet access.

I did so because I like having my home team (where I don't live) sports available and because the internet access/ Roku/ Android/ iPad sound quality is MUCH better than through the vehicle radio.

I should have mentioned that my 6 month rate was actually 29.99 then they add music royalty for 12.00. So I didn't do bad, certainly better than 94.00.

$12 royalty fee? Ouch, they got me for $4 on it and I thought that was bad.
Total for 6 months was $35.50 with tax.
