Travel link sucks? Why would anyone waste so much time over this in the age of smartphones?

the 5yrs is only for the "original' owner... if you bought used, you'll only get a 3 month or 6 month subscription.
i agree... its slow and antiquated compared to info on smartphones these days.

Well some of us wouldn't know if it sucks or not as we haven't ever seen it.

As far as smartphones go I agree but when I am traveling in the US from Canada I don't have data so Waze or Google maps are no good to me. Yes I know I can download maps and use offline but that does nothing for traffic.

I actually like travel link but to each their own. Badattittude are you sure your weather is actually an hour off? Mine appear that way during daylight savings time but it is actually a mismatch between gos time and adjusted time.

Because where I live, cell phones suck. Travel Link is the only thing I like about the navigation system. Twice now travel link has gotten me out of bad weather. Including hurricane harvey.

My weather map updates every few minutes.

I also got you can add it for a certain amount per month, but you have to pay full price for radio service. Who the hell would pay their full price for the service. Especially as we don't even get a free trial to see if it's any good.
My 6 months runs out in a couple days, i'm not even going to call them and try to get a proper deal. Spotify FTW.

There was a brochure that came with all the stuff in the owners manual binder that spelled out the 5 year subscription.
