Angry Sirius System Failure

Just venting here:

2017 King Ranch...less than 1800 miles (just picked it up in December)...listening to my favorite Sirius channel when "System Failure" was displayed...no audio...can't change channels...most buttons are non-responsive on the display until I change to a different audio source. Looking at the subscription information for the Sirius system shows Audio enabled but nothing else.

Tried a signal refresh to no avail. Called Sirius and they tried to push a refresh...no good.

Truck will have to go back to the dealer for a warranty repair of the satellite radio module...

Not even 2,000 miles on the truck, I hope this isn't indicative of the future of this vehicle...

Ford makes almost million F series trucks a year. Some of them do have problems and some are serious like engine failures. But when you consider how many trucks they push out the failure rate is pretty low. Don't know who supplies them to Ford but I'm sure Ford isn't their only customer so they may be making over a million of these things a year. Bound to get a bad one now and then. Unfortunately you got a bad one.

Did you disconnect the battery for 20 minutes?

Don't do that. The module may have a stored trouble code that would help diagnosing what went wrong.

Valid points...my problem is, obviously, a first world problem...and not a serious issue, at all. I just had to vent somewhere!

It should get fixed by next week.

I'm going to hold off on that, due to the post by RL1990...

The best thing, hopefully, that it is isolated in the radio and can be quickly and easily resolved.

Some of the 15+ generation of trucks had satellite antenna issues, maybe that's the cause?

To which the first step of resolution will most likely be to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes. Hopefully the OP doesn’t pay $200 for a dealer visit for them to do that.
