I am all set here. They sell the 1x2 (dimensional lumber) oak wood strips in 7 foot lengths. I had thought only 8 foot and higher so 7 foot fit no issues sitting flat diagonally.

LOL. H²=A²+B² with H being the diagonal, A being the bed length, and B being the bed width.

But if you are measuring the bed length and width anyway, you can, as someone suggested, just measure the freaking diagonal.

No math needed. Sheez!!!
