Hi Folks, First post here.
My Dad has a 2018 F150 Regular cab, Short bed XL 2WD with Chrome package.
He'd like to add mirrors that have the turn signal indicators and running lights.
He and I took the door panel off and put a circuit tester on the mirror power plug.
It has an 8 wire connector to the mirror (right now, the mirror has adjust motors only) and the wire that I think is used for the signals from the door control module isn't getting 12V when the blinkers are on.
Is it possible to buy mirrors that have the signals and running lights and install them with the XL trim level and have them work or is this not possible?

 

2018 F150 crew cab 4x4.
Mine came w small, standard mirrors w/o turns or heat.
I wanted towing mirrors and bought some from American Truck.
I ordered them with signals and mirror heat.
The signals worked as soon as plugged in.
I needed to upgrade the center dash console to one that had mirror heat switch- and that gave me mirror heat.

I swapped my factory mirrors with ones that have turns and heat, plug n play all the way. My truck has rear window defroster so that button does the mirror heat too.


Edit: if you want the turn signal lights to come on as running lights too, you'll need an aftermarket harness to do that.

 

My original mirrors had heat but no turn signals. I grabbed a set of fleBay for a little over a Benjamin shipped and they were plug/play to add turn signals. I haven't modified the turns to be running lights, probably won't. Meh.
