Default Side Mirror Mod - SIMPLIFIED VERSION

Hello everyone. I've got a question as it relates to the mod in this previous writeup: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/mirro...rs-mod-312462/

I have regular side mirrors on my '15 with a turn signal light only. I've never been a fan of them since and would rather have them just stay on as a parking light. Others have wanted them to serve both functions(parking light but still flash), which was successfully done in that previous post. But what if I wanted my mirror's blinker light to simply stay on as a parking light and NEVER BLINK-- like it got fired from it's blinker job and is now a fulltime parking light. (Pic below for illustration). Would that be a lot easier?? And if so, what's the easiest way for me to do that? I really don't want to take my door panel off. Surely there is an easier way to find the mirror's signal wire, cut it, and replace it with power that's tapped into my parking lights. Thoughts everyone?

You can probably tap into the wire under the fuse box or behind the kick panel.

I've modded mine to be dual function (turn signal plus parking light). I was going into the mirror for other reasons, such as adding emergency lights as well as a puddle light, so I pulled the mirror apart and tapped into the circuit just behind the light. I put a diode to prevent backfeed into the turn-signal circuit, then ran that out of the door and through the fender into the engine compartment. Its not the greatest solution because the wire is visible when you open the door, but it works. I tapped into the parking light circuit behind the headlight and used a resistor to dim the light.

As Jmula said, you could probably get the circuit inside the cab, down behind the kick-panel, but there will be a lot less room to work there.

Which power source are you referring to by the kick panel? The signal or the parking light? I'm not worried about finding/tapping into the parking light. But I AM wondering what's the easiest way for me locate the signal wire?

Thanks man. But what source (signal or parking light?) are you referring to by the kick panel? I'm not worried about finding/tapping into the parking light. But I AM wondering what's the easiest way for me locate that signal wire?

The wiring that does to through the door is behind the kick panel... it's where it comes in from the door jam

Is that the power for the signal? Or the parking light?

I disconnected the green/brown side and that made the blinking cease. Now I just need to decide how I want to tap into the parking lights. Does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest route to go. I can fish it through to get it under the hood, but there's got to be a parking light wire somewhere closer like in the interior, under the dash, etc.
