This is a SofTopper from a 2013 Dodge Ram. It fits perfectly. The only thing I need to do is install a strip of velcro for the front window to keep it from flapping.

am I teh only one that gets totally hacked off by the fact it is virtually impossible to get pricing on shells without going to a dealer or filling in a request on the product site which is passed to the dealer? No prices available on the sites. I realize this is a dealer-centric/territory market but it is a totally fragmented 1960s sales model. Given that most shells are now $3k plus and it is near impossible to do online price comparisons it desperately needs to be brought up to date somehow .......
So...that's what you should do. Waste their time. Contact multiple dealers and get quotes from all of them. To be fair, when I was shopping for mine, I did this, contacting the two major topper dealers in our area and giving the specs and asking for a price. Both of them tried to 'upsell' me on a "higher end" topper but in the end I got the into I wanted.
FWIW my price was around $2350 out the door for a Leer 100A, color matched to my race-red F-150 with the 5.5' bed. Options I ordered were the carpet headliner, vented win-doors on both sides and the rack track on the roof. The dealer mentioned they were running a "special" when I ordered so the tip-down back window was included at no additional cost.
Sooner or later they might realize it makes more sense to let customers look this stuff up themselves than to waste the salespersons time, but until they do, they're basically asking for it.

I am looking in to buy a bed topper and I am trying to find out what the average cost is and how do you like them, what's the common attaching method. What are options that I should not pass on. I am not trying to break the bank on this topper but I am not exactly shooting for the base model either. I would like to find something like the picture below. I've been looking at A.R.E, Leer, Century. Give me the low-down on these things. I have never owned one but would like to. I have looked at the websites but when I want information they all link me to local (Oklahoma City) dealers, none of which seem to have any knowledge of products they are selling.
OP, I am close to the OKC area and am in the market for a topper. What did you end up going with and who did you buy from?

I installed an A.R.E. Z series and love it. Take actual aperture height into account to ensure you have enough room to put things in the bed of your truck like a tall Dog kennel. Decide on type of windows you want and how they open, you’ll be glad you researched that after you purchase.

Since then all my toppers have had the cheaper, uglier aluminum framed flat rear window. Not as pretty but the aluminum frame protects the edge of the glass and if it breaks any glass shop can cut a piece to replace the flat glass pane.

I've been unlucky enough to shatter two windows on my work trucks, but I have them replaced with a tinted polycarbonate panel so it does not happen again. Any good window shop should be able to do the same.
