Seems like better flow to the intercooler would help more than hurt, but I guess partially blocking it doesn't hurt too much??
FWIW, I mounted my plate off to the side on my Raptor. I previously owned a 2011 and 2014 Ecoboost, so I like the side mount anyway.
Here is what it says in my Raptor Supplement Manual.
Remove the front license plate before off-roading to achieve optimal performance.

I will remount it to its original bracket position in front of the intercooler come mid December just like I did last fall just for cold weather reason. It is obvious engine timing and fuel injection sequences change with it. It just snaps in place, all of a couple minutes to do. I just turned the very bottom corners up to catch the air dam.

Jesus, I just wish I could understand what the hell you are trying to say half the time. Another wind noise video perhaps?

If there is no requirement to have a license plate on the front, why would you leave in place, an ugly license plate mount?

I am thinking of installing one of these to fill the hole in...

The active shutters in front of the cac are shut most of the time anyways. They only open during WOT or heavy towing. Putting a license plate there doesn't do anything for the engine because of the shutters. Several YouTube videos of people mounting cameras to watch when the shutters open and close.

Shutters aren't the question there

You removed the shutters?

Someone keep this thread handy for when he has shuddering, condensation, and other issues and blames Ford...
