Default Should the License Plate be remounted on the 2.7L

I remounted my license plate down on the air dam and have noticed an increase in gas MPG.

In some locales, an industry switchover in April to summer fuel blends would account for the increased MPG.

Why would you want to change where the factory mounted the license plate? the decision to change course from the previous plate location on the first generation 3.5 eco was not made randomly.

The factory sells you a bracket that snaps in front of the CAC. Note they did not put it there. If the dealer sells you new plates and you receive them in the mail you put the plate there.

What difference does that make?!

Fact is that the plates for this model go there. doesn't matter who snaps it in place. mine came with theach bracket in place from the dealer and I removed it because we don't need front plates here. if we did, I would not have questioned it. It's on this forum somewhere that ford addressed the issue of airflow from previous the previous model and that front plate placement is OK.

Since it is much smaller in size then the 3.5L it makes sense that it would work much more efficiently uncovered even if it is of better design especially if you drive hot pavements.

Sure, but is there any evidence at all to suggest that it works more efficiently uncovered? are people with front mounted license plates in the 2.7 experiencing any problems from this?

Genuinely curious here as I have not heard of anything... I just don't believe in over complicating things when there is no issue in reality.

Complication necessarily happen every question raised. Mine returns better gas mileage off and less when in place.

I kept mine in front of the CAC where it was originally mounted. I rather it mounted on the side but I heard it's there for a reason. I think something about condensation. Who knows.

And for me, I removed my air dam cause I kept scrapping it on my land. So I voted no to mount it here.
