I ordered my truck in December. Due to the HD Payload package being late availability, I have a long wait on my hands.
I have been keeping myself busy here. Reading up has educated me, and looking at the pictures makes me want more.
I ordered an XLT with the 300 (base) package. I added HD payload, which also included Max Tow. I added the tow mirrors (forced to add spotlights), remote start, and rear view camera.
I am now thinking of adding 301 (mid level) package. This adds rear window defrost, box link, 4.2" productivity screen, underseat storage, power seat, and leather wrapped steering wheel. Because I added Max Tow and the Reverse Camera to the original order, upgrading to this full package is only 1,700 difference. I also get the option of adding My Ford Touch (400.00). Which I am torn on.
I get A-plan pricing, so this will not cost me 1,700 + 400 respectively. I am just not sure if this is worth it. I am not trying to keep up with the Jones', happy to stick with the XLT. What are your thoughts on these changes, pros and cons?
I am a single dad with three kids, good paying job. This is my daily driver, 20 minutes to and from work. I tow a travel trailer 12-15 times per year, some long trips. I average 1,500kms/month this is closer to 1,200/month, with one summer vacation involving a lot of driving.

I was about to change my order from a Lariat w/HD payload to an XLT w/HD payload with the assumption that I could add the stand alone options and build what I really wanted.
The build and price site is wrong about the MY Ford Touch including dual zone climate on the XLT.
Dual Zone isn't included until Lariat trim level. This was an important feature for me so I stayed with my original order.

1) Upgrade from 300A to 301A. I already added rear view camera, max tow, and spot lights, to the cost difference is $1,700. This will add; Boxlink, rear window defrost, 8 way power driver seat, 4.2" productivity screen in instrument cluster, power adjustable pedals, leather wrapped steering wheel, and rear under seat storage.
- I would add Boxlink separately, as I like the concept. I find the regular cleats are too low. Rear window defrost - YES PLEASE! the 4.2" screen sounds like a sensible option, so I can better use some of the features.
2) Once I upgrade to 301A, I can add MyFord Touch for $400.00. I have never used this. I do like that it is a larger display for the rear view camera. I use my iPhone and iPad for GPS. I would consider the Lockpick, allowing the rear view camera while driving, and input of video from iPhone/iPad.
I get A-plan, so I will get a discount on these quoted prices, I will call my salesman tomorrow for details. Just curious, what are your thoughts.
The 8' screen and nav are otions I wanted. I bought an STX because it's a work truck and I didn't want carpet. I'm pretty happy with everything except the lack of back-up camera and nav On the '13, I would have had to have gotten the Lariat or FX4 to be able to get those options. I didn't want to spend another $10,000 for things I really didn't want just to get them. I ended up spending $1500 for an aftermarket nav unit and camera.

I think I would prefer the rear-view display in the Mirror. The small display there (I have it on my current truck) is fine, and it's more natural for me to look there.
Not sure about MyFord touch ... I know the Sync is something we never use, so would have to be convinced that this is any good. Understand Ford is moving away from Microsoft software in the future so ...
Leather wrapped steering wheel is nice.
Because I have a Leer Cap on my truck, which restricts rear visibility, another thing I like is the rear sensors, but I think in 2015 you have to go up to the Lariat to get them if you also have HD Payload. Too bad.
I think you automatically get the Factory Brake controller and Tow Mirrors?
