Default Should I switch back?

Hey guys been a member for awhile under a different name. I have since bought a 2015 gmc sierra 1500 that I'm looking to trade in on a 17 f150. I had a 2010 f150 before this truck. Would I be happy switching from the gmc back to a ford. Theres so many little things that I miss about my old ford. What im looking at is a 17 xlt supercrew 6.5' bed 5.0 with the sport package and the 302a package. Is the 5.0 a good reliable engine? Any issues with these newer fords I should be concerned with?

Why wouldn't you post under your other name? I don't know about this forum specifically but on most forums signing up for multiple accounts is grounds for a permanent ban so be careful.

That sounds like a reasonable excuse to make a new account.

Your configuration sounds great to me. I haven't heard about any issues with the 5.0, so I think you are safe.

As far as being happy, that's up to you. It's like coming on here, saying a few things about a woman and asking if you'll live happily ever after. The nice thing about getting tired of a truck is you'll lose less money when you trade her in on a new model.

I understand every vehicle has its issues. Is there any known issues with the new f150's. I just cant help but see some of the threads about issues with their trucks.

If there are ANY issues, real or imagined, you will find them discussed on this forum.

I can say my 2016 is my 6th Ford truck (2 F100's, 4 F150's), going back to 1954. Every one of them, with the exception of my totaled 2012, is still on the road. I see them all pretty regularly.

I generally agonize over big purchases like this. But when I traded my '05 F150 for my '12, I never looked at another make or model. Same thing when that 2012 was destroyed. 3 days later I signed the papers for the 2016, without ever looking at another vehicle.

There are always haters, and I don't play much into brand loyalty, but I actually do believe Ford is doing it right, and has been for a long time.

Sounds like you don't keep your trucks more then five years anyhow, so you should be fine. I would keep your gmc a little longer though and get an 18 5.0 L. More power and the 10 spd is really going to be a good combo.

What does it have for a trans now? 6 speed? And is the 10 more hp worth it? I could probably get that out of a tune

Ya you could tune it, but you lose the warranty. Also Ford did some other things to update the motor but you can't go wrong with the 5.0L. Just make sure your getting a 3.73 rear end or at least a 3.55. The new 10 spd I think will be amazing with that engine.

Id like the 3.73 but those seem hard to come by. The truck im looking for was hard enough to find. Closest ones are 4.5 hours away
