Default Should I pull the trigger?

Hey guys, first post here and hoping to become an active member in the next couple days when I find a truck to buy. I'm hoping to get some opinions on the deal I'm considering with a dealer for a truck that is almost exactly what I'm looking for...

What I've found is:

16 F150 Screw 4x4 3.5L ecoboost with 154" wheel base
Power deployable running boards
Twin panel moon roof
Adaptive cruise control
Trailer tow package
Power trailering mirrors
Fx4 package
Tailgate step
20" six spoke aluminum wheels
Active park assist
integrated trailerbrake
tech package
sport appearance package

The MSRP is 63315+ delivery = 64510
The sticker price shows discount of $2000, bringing sticker price to $62510

Now the dealer is willing to let me have it for $57744.

I'm in a bind because I really want to use the 0 percent financing but I feel like I should be able to get a better price with the 2017's just around the corner. Can anyone shed some light on whether or not this is a good deal?

Is this a lariat or platinum? I wouldn't buy now either way unless you have money to burn. The incentives should get better in a month or two. I spec'd a Lariat like this and didn't buy it for 55k.

Remember you give up lots of rebate to get 0%. Try pricing it without the 0 and see if it gets better?

Waiting is always good, but longer you wait, more likely it is to sell

Forgot to mention this is a lariat... Thanks for your guy's input so far. Would still appreciate more opinions.

I'm also feeling urgent for this purchase because it's currently the only one like it I can find in southern California and I'm guessing ordering will be slowing down with 2017's on deck?

Scrappy is right...In South Carolina they are offering $13,000 rebates on certain trims. With good credit some new rates are 1.7% and below...Much better than losing the rebates and going 0%.

ex: $57,000 at 0% for 72 months = $792

$13,000 in rebates on $57,000 gets you to $44,000 at 1.7% for 72 months = $645

Dealers also get kickbacks on financing from the banks so they hate 0% because it limits their return.

Don't quote me, but I don't know if you can order 16s anymore. I may be wrong. Personally, I never feel a sense of urgency around a vehicle and I've safe myself a lot of heartache. If it's not this one, there will be another one, trust me.

On the other hand, if you have all your other stuff in order, then a few thousand don't really make a difference if you feel that strongly about getting this particular truck.

I passed on the 15, passed on the 16 and will consider getting a 17, but when you think you have to be hasty, you are discounting your leverage with a dealer. A vehicle will never be something I have to have today (barring any crazy circumstances!) Good luck.

One thing you might want to consider when it comes to a 16 versus 17 is that the 17 will have the new 3.5 eccoboost engine plus the new 17 transmission. The reason that I bring it up is that according to what I have read that will be the only changes to the vehicles. One thing that I can always rember my dad telling me was never buy a 1st year vehicle and I know it's not a 1st year vehicle, but this is a new engine and transmission on the F150. As far as the price I've had a 13 Lariat and now a 16 Lariart and my sticker was just over 59k, but ended up paying just over 53K for her. Good luck on what ever choice you make. Keep us updated.

Not.

Here is what you should do (if you want to invest time instead of money): (IMHO)
  1. First find a credit union with ~2% fincance rate. Take the Ford credit rebate and the next day switch to your credit union. Shop for the loan before you shop for the truck.
  2. Read the "under invoice thread"
  3. Figure out the dealers should be able to sell for invoice minus holdback minus incentives. That is the max you should pay.
Invoice minus holdback should already be roughly $56,300 then if there is a finance rebate of $2000 and Lariat rebate of $2000, you would be able to get it for ~$52k plus TTL.

In the end it is your money and you should do what ever makes you happy...
