Changed all four corners a bout a month after I bought the truck new to bilstein 5100 . Everyone is right about the finish and the shocks are great . I recently bought a set of bilstein 8112 for the front and their 8100 for the rear, they arrive today and will be put on my 2015 platinum screw some time very soon

@leckbandg Could you please report back once you have some seat time and compare/contrast the 5100 vs 8100/8112? I was thinking of doing the same thing, but curious on how the ride differs, if at all 👍

Sho4cy : will do
Update : mounted rear shocks (8100)
Easy peasy : had not realized how far gone the 5100 had become or maybe just how much better the 8100 would be ... very happy with bilstein
Look forward more so than yesterday to having the front 8112 installed . Oh: guessing the rear might settle down but my measurements saw a quarter inch gain in bed height . Torqued at 66 foot pounds
Update: front shocks 8112 schedule to go on Wednesday 27th

Have the new bilstein 8112 / 8100 installed on my 2015 platinum screw 3.5L EcoBoost.
Set the front at 1.5 inch lift ... gain was pretty much right on ... the rear shock gave me a 1/8 gain on fuel side and a 1/4 inch on the passenger side . I wanted a rake and am happy with the 1 3/4 inch the truck is showing
Ride home was firm , planted and smooth but not a true test .Shocks-photo880.jpgShocks-photo830.jpg

Any reason as to why you decided to get the 8112s and 8100s? Those are some heavy duty struts and shocks when compared to stock and even 5100s...

Makes sense, you will notice the biggest improvement of those 8100s over the 5100s while at speed on the trails. Otherwise the 5100s are a little better for road use. I opted for the middle and stayed with the 6112s and 5160s. Will be swapping them out for an IVD Stage 4 or Stage 5 Kit here in the coming years.

I have read that the 8100s ride better on the street than the 5100s on the rear. Now I'm not sure what to think.

I like the ride I now have with the 8100 , I did not change the factory settings but like the option of being able to soften the ride or stiffening the ride with the turn of a **** The front are set /built with the f150 in mind for the f150
I don't think I'm speaking to soon ... I like this new set up !
