The deal was so awesome, I made the truck trade. So no more worries with the 2.7 EB engine. I hope that all of you that have 2.7 EB engine, have good luck with them!

I still have the issue using the higher octane (mixing calculation of around 90 octane). So next I will be changing brands. I buy the majority of my fuel from Valero mainly for price and convenience but will try Exxon or Shell next.

The 2.7L seems to like the higher octane, especially with the ambient temps are around 90 degrees.
I live in Texas. It gets HOT. Have no issues with mine running 87.

Same for me in Texas, using 87 ethanol free and 2.7 runs great. I'm about to change the oil again (Pennzoil Platinum) which I plan to do every 4000 miles and oil level always remains on the full mark.

Just to make another comment on this....I would venture to say that most 2.7 EB engines are damn good trouble free engines. The one I just traded in was manufactured in the dreaded time slot that the TSB had noted for the heads or the engine long block assembly to possibly need to be replaced. Therefore, do not get me wrong that I was or am implying that the 2.7 EB engine is a bad engine. However Ford knows they had an issue with some of the engines during 2016 engine building process. I am happy with my V8 now, but if I would not of started to have issues with mine, it would still be parked in my driveway and I would still be very happy with it.
Thanks,
Phil in Tennessee

Heck yeah man. It's still an f150. I don't get why people are so divided over engine choices. This place wasn't like that at all back in the 4.6 and 5.4 days. It's crazy.

Its the same with all new engines... test and fix. That takes testers.

Because people like to have d*ck measuring contests and if you don't agree with them then they will waste a large amount of time berating you because of it

Except that my 2015 1st year motor has been trouble free.
