Default Sensor mounted to engine air filter box

My friend just bought a new 2019 F-150 xl reg cab sb 4x4 and there is a sensor mounted to the air filter box that we can’t figure out what it is. It doesn’t go into the filter box it just sits there. We have searched all over the internet with no luck. Anyone have any answers?

Thanks

Check the owners manual under maintenance air filter. It's a sensor that tells you when the filter get clogged

A new addition to prevent the Jiffy Lube guy from telling you the filter needs to be replaced at 500 miles because it is dirty.

I don’t think that’s it because it doesn’t go into the air box it sits on the outside so know way for it to tell if filter is clogged. I don’t have any pics. I will see if my friend can take a picture. It just took a look at a video of a s&b intake install and the guy takes it off but doesn’t say what it is. It almost looks like a plug.

I just watches 2 videos (5.0 and 3.0) and didn't see what you're talking about. How about a link? Or watch the video, pause it, take a screen shot and post?

No idea. My 3.5 doesn't have that, just a couple push pins holding a wire harness.
