Seeking Opinion on Purchase Option

Fleet vehicle is as bad as a rental. People drive the crap out of them, so you know that's 18k of hard miles.
I'm very happy with my XLT 302A Sport. Everything I wanted and needed, but I added the moonroof. Can't go wrong with new.

Hey Everyone, I've been lurking for quite some time before finally joining as a member. I have gone back and forth on multiple trucks trying to make sure I come away with the best option. This would be my first truck, and I plan on keeping it ~10 years as I have with my other vehicles.
If you guys could be so kind to weigh in on this, I'd really appreciate it.
Option 1
2017 SCREW 4x4 XLT 302A 2.7EB Sport Package $35k after trade (pre TTL)
Option 2
2016 SCREW 4x4 Lariat 501A V8 Sport Package $35k after trade (pre TTL), 18k miles.
The Lariat seems like a great deal, but it is a fleet vehicle. The interior is still flawless still, and it is under warranty obviously. Has anyone come across this dilemma of new/used? I love the Lariat and the value/resale I'd be receiving... but it isn't a new vehicle that I would have owned from day 1. Sorry for the newb question, I look forward to being a part of this community!

Great point... I believe it does. Being new to the truck world, I'm coming in pretty green. I've always had leather other than my first car as a beater. I'm sure I could live with the cloth. I have to admit, the decision would be a little easier if the 302A had the V8. I'm not one of these guys who are V8 til I die, but the turbos do add item(s) that can go wrong down the road of ownership. There have been some awesome commentary in this thread, I appreciate it.

Get whatever truck you like better. Get the one that will leave you with no regrets. Which options do you want/need? Which one feels/ looks better to you? It's a personal choice. You know what you want. If your worried about the 2.7 get the 5.0 and call it a day.

Sounds like you made the decision for yourself. If you get the EB are you going to wonder what it would have been like to get the V8? Or just get the V8 and be happy. Both are great engines, but you prefer the V8 so get it!

I`m sure if you look around, you`ll be able to find a great deal on a brand new 2016 Lariat with the features you want for about the same price but you might have to travel to pick it up or have it shipped.

A little off topic, but does anyone else have difficulty tracking down new vehicles. I feel like cars.com is best, but it still doesnt grab all dealers. And the Ford inventory search must only be updated once a month, it seems the trucks I find on there are never actually on the dealer's website.
