The other day I turned my truck off and locked it with the key fob while I was still inside the truck. When I moved around the alarm starting going off and I had to hurry and grab the key fob and hit the unlock button for it to stop. I was impressed.

It goes off if truck is bumped and has interior motion sensors. I do not know how much more you need. I have not found, in the manual, how to disarm. I took a ferry and just unlocked it when it went off, I could see the truck so no problem.

None of the motion detectors will set off the alarm if the truck thinks it's been legitimately unlocked. I had an Audi that was a popular theft target. The thieves would punch a hole in the (aluminum) door next to the driver's lock cylinder and raise the rod attached to the lock mechanism with a screw driver. Once the door was unlocked, the entire security system would be disabled, as the system assumed it was unlocked with the key / remote. They would then just jam said screwdriver in the ignition cylinder and start the car. Mine was taken on a Saturday afternoon from a church parking lot while I was inside for 20 minutes attending a baptism.

All I know is don't leave the dog in the truck while you pick your kid up at school!
(relax everyone, it was a cold day in Minnesota. No change of harming the dog!)

In the Audi, a lot of people were removing the rod in the door that connected to the button. Removed the ability to unlock the door 'manually' with the key, but some felt it was worth it.
