Default Seat differences between the trims

does anybody know if the actual seats are any different bepetween different trims?

i know you can get different fabric from XL to XLT and sport cloth in between but are the actual seats any different?

im leaning towards aftermarket leather on cheap seats if I cant get what I want but would rather have the best seat foam and shape if possible.

Thoughts?

I test drove a Lariat and XLT before I bought the XLT, don't remember any difference between the two seats other than the "cooler seats" which wife and I did not care for. Might feel good during the summer heat, but on a cold rainy February day just to test 'em, we didn't care for 'em.

There are definitely (at least) two different seats. The XL and XLT heated seats use wiring in the seats to heat them up. The Lariat and above with heated and cooled seats have air ducts blowing hot or cold air through them to change the temperature.

From what I have read, the wiring heats the seats better, but, of course, you lose the cooling capability.

Thanks guys.

I dont even care for the cooling seats, just interested if there is an actual difference of the seat shape and cushining.
Considering the stx with sport seats and xlt with regular(?) seats.

I dont like the gray personally, so prefer the sport seats actually

I have driven both and IMO the cloth seats have a little more bolstering on the sides, where the Lariat's seem a little flatter, which I prefer.

I don't recall major differences. I think when you get to the raptor it is different mostly for the bolster foam and cover. The platnium I think is different too. The rest might be the same seats.

I don't think that is true for the 2018 models. The heated seats don't blow anything and the "cooled" seats are just ventilated now. The ventilated seats only suck air in from the seat surfaces, there is no active cooling.

I can say for sure the frames of the XL and XLT are the same. I swapped all my fabric/foam from my 2017 XL to a XLT frame that had 10 way power adjust. I have since recovered all my seats myself with Katzkin leather.

If you want some sport covers I have some I'm wanting to sell as I just swapped mine over to leather from a lariat.
