Default SCT Programmer and Custom Tunes

I have a SCT programmer on my 15 Lariat Sport (5.0) and I'm wondering if anyone else is running one with a custom tune? Pros vs Cons? My truck is lifted 6 inches so obviously I'm looking to increase my MPG. Let me know something

I have one on my 2.7. Unfortunately I have a very limited data set. I installed the tuner after I upgraded the tires so I don't have an apples to apples comparison running the 87 eco tune from 5*.

Running the eco tune I got 2MPG less on a drive I make every three days in the same conditions. My set up is in my sig but the lift is not installed yet. I also removed the front air dam/spoiler and apparently that has an effect on MPGs. I could reinstall it to see if it makes a difference but the logical assumption would be the bigger tires had the most impact.

I loaded the 87 per/tow tune this morning while at work. Won't test it out until I leave tomorrow morning.

I have a thread I'll be updating with info, mainly MPG info, once I rack up some more miles and complete all my mods. Give me a couple weeks and I'll have some decent information on a 2.7EB, lifted with 34" tires, no air dam, tuned, and 1.5" wheel spacers.

Thanks Booze, I looking to do a 93 oct tune running 22" rims (same overall height as stock) with a 3/5 drop and air dam removed as well. No other performance mods yet. Look forward to hearing about your results.

I have the 93 perf tune as well. Was waiting to empty this tank of gas before I messed with it. I'm trying to gather a lot of information for myself and the interested forum members. The difficult thing is I don't drive a whole lot. 90 mile round trip to work every three days and not a whole lot of driving in between. So I either go out and drive some test trips to get information or just gather the info slowly.

Any sense of gains through the butt dyno or improvement in throttle response? I'd really like to see if the tune makes changes to boost pressures. My BMW 335i tune does change that. I might need to invest in a boost gauge.

So far with the tune I've been running I notice more gains in Sport Mode than from the tune. It's the eco tune so the gains aren't much, especially at low RPMs. I imagine the 93 perf and even the 87 perf/tow would be more noticeable.

The tuner I have puts a boost gauge on the screen of my phone if I want but I haven't checked it.
