SCrew short bed
Why are the majority of the SCrew trucks short bed configuration? It is smaller than a lot of car trunks LOL. Looks like 95% of the SCrew trucks on the lots are short beds. That extra 1 ft of bed length with the std bed at 6.5 ft is a must for me. I refuse to settle for a car trunk size bed Haha
Had to be a Super Crew short bed for me. Hauls all the people I need to haul, fits in my garage and there's plenty of room for dead elk/muleys/antelope in that stumpy 5.7ft bed with room to spare for coolers, tents, jerry cans, camp stoves, etc. Truly the perfect machine...

Obviously the vast majority of F150 buyers are fine with the short bed or they wouldn't be selling them. Ford usually makes what MOST people want to drive and therefore sell. I have a 6'5" because I needed the extra length for what I usually haul and it also fits in my garage. I had a 2012 short bed which was fine 90% of the time but when buying new went with the 6'5". However I can say IF the 6'5" didn't fit in my garage it would have been a deal breaker.
Bottom line there are FAR fewer 6'5" beds on dealers lots because most people don't want or need the extra foot on their trucks.

My garage was plenty long for a SCREW 6.5", so I went that way. Better to have and not need! There's only been one instance in 3 months where it was handy. Not required, but was nice. I got used to having it on my SCAB, so when I traded in, I really didn't want to lose it.
My prior truck ('10 Sport Trac) had a bed that was just over 48" long, and it served my purposes well.. It was all plastic as well, no problems. Guess the OP likes to take the kitchen sink with him. LOL
