I go by the "stitch in time" method. I never have to undo the axle cover bolts again to change the fluid.
Being that time is the only thing of value in life... hence why I went with an inexpensive cover with a drain bolt.
Next time I service the rear fluid it will take 7 mins instead of 40.
I think it will take me more like 20 minutes, but no doubt you will be happier with 7.

There are no inexpensive super 8.8 ones. Well, $250 if you consider that inexpensive. The 9.75 has more choices.

Way better off taking off the rear cover...that way you can wipe out ALL of the junk that still pools at the bottom of the diff case.

I run heavier viscosity engine oil (5w40)
Trans I swapped the Dorman pan and do a service every 30k with a filter every 60k. Drain plug makes it easy. Pull plug, let drain, replace plug, add in 4-5qts and start truck. Finish fill with truck running. I also have an engine bay dipstick so it's easier to fill. Nearly $200 but worth every penny. MercLV equivalent (aka NOT Motorcraft)
Rear diff I run a cover with drain plug and a LubeLocker gasket. I do rear diff fluid every summer. I just use Valvoline 75w140 easy fill packs. The argument is there for removing cover and wiping up extra garbage but I service often enough I'm not overly concerned. I also use blue Loctite on the diff cover bolts after having 3 of them loosen/fall out. The cover is a B&M girdle cover so it is subject to more vibration than stock. YMMV
Front diff, about every 50k. I don't use 4x4 a ton and never 4AUTO. 75w140 Valvoline easy fill packs+fluid extractor.
Transfercase 50k because, again, hardly use 4x4. MercLV equivalent
Coolant I did with a water pump and converted from Orange to Motorcraft Yellow.

The only thing Motorcraft I use is the coolant. None of this a recommendation. I offer no responsibility for variation outside of Ford recommendations, just sharing what I do
