Scheduling Question
When the order is filled has a lot to do with what is being ordered.
If someone went into a dealer and said they want to buy 100 new trucks the dealer could order them. It may be a while before they all came in . .
If you ordered on 1/5/15 it really depends on the trim level, cab, box and options as to when the order will be filled.
For instance I ordered a new F150 on November 3rd and I still do not have a VIN. I would say it will probably be close to June before it comes in at the rate its going. I am always told maybe next week.
Another order was made end of October had a vin Early December and it is still not scheduled. The date keeps getting pushed later later then now no date at all but maybe in March. It has a Dearborn VIN. I am told the other truck will be Kansas City. Probably why no VIN yet.
The dealer only has a certain number of trucks or (whatever) that they may order or build. Basically it is to prevent some dealers from dominating certain areas like oh this dealer is the truck dealer this dealer is the car dealer etc..
Basically if you ask your salesperson when you are ready to order they should be able to tell you when their next allotment is- i.e. when they are able to order more trucks from the factory and use one of those slots to custom order for you.
When I ordered mine in November I was not told by the dealer that they did not have allotment and my order was not placed until a week after I singed the paperwork. A little frustrating!

It also has to do with items ordered that are late availability, example would be those who ordered rear wheel wells, someone said in another thread they will be available Feb 6th. So for those of us with this item on our order we will not have our orders pulled until all the parts are available.
The silver lining is you will not have to drive your new truck on salted and cindered roads till next winter

I placed my order 12/22 and no VIN yet. I order a 6.5' Screw Lariat 4x4 500A in Bronze Fire with wheel well liners and HD payload package, both were listed as "late availability" on the Ford Canada build and price website but the dealer said only the wheel well liners were showing as late availability when I ordered.
This is an exercise in delayed gratification to be sure...

My original order was unscheduled/clean when we placed the order, but when Ford picked up the orders that WED, they were told it was on material hold (and not scheduled) because of the stowable ramps being LA. I had them remove the ramps, as they can be bought later.
My dealer just got back to me,,,
Here is what he told me.
For what its worth...
"Here is what the Ford Rep sent me back on your truck. The reason why Ford wasn't picking you truck was is Ford wasn't picking up any more 3.5 Eco-boost for Feb production but he will mark sure it gets picked up for March production."

If ANYTHING - even just the wheel well liners - is still late availability, then your order will go on material hold. Meaning, it won't be scheduled.

I guess what I am really asking, is if my truck is in limbo due to a material hold issue, does that mean no VIN with be assigned until the parts become available?
Thanks
Same here. In fact, I asked the dealer to check themselves after I had checked COTUS. This was his reply: "Order status is “Unscheduled/Clean”. This means that they have checked it, everything is good, but it has not been scheduled yet. It will not show on the website until it is actually scheduled. It is in process."
I placed an order 1/19 that included liners and I'm wondering how much this might delay me. Does this mean I'm at the back of some queue with every other truck that was ordered with liners?
