Default Sccm

New on here but I have a 2016 f150 and all my steering wheel controls stopped working as well as blinkers and windshield wipers. From looking around I’m guessing it’s the sccm. I’ve got forscan and it’s showing dtc’s from the pcm and bdycm: lost communication with SCCM. When I go to service functions or configuration and programming in forscan the sccm module isn’t showing up. Anybody able to help or know why sccm module isn’t showing up?

Welcome to the forum. Great that you already have Forscan and are familiar with it. Since the codes indicate lost communication with the SCCM and the module doesn't even turn up in Forscan, it sounds like it has completely failed. I found a video for you on replacing it.

Thank you for the help. I got the part ordered and on the way. I’ve seen you have to program the sccm when you put a new one in. You think the sccm will show up on forscan when I install the new one? If not how would I go about programming it?

The Ford WSM says a PMI is required when repacing the SCCM. That means you need to write the AS-built PIDs to the new module and perform a reboot wth FORScan. You either have to download the original As-built PIDs from the old module before you remove it or download the As-built from the Motorcraft website.

When you start up FORScan, do not use the original vehicle profile it there is one. Have it rescan and create a new profile. That way it should find the new module.

I am NOT saying your SCCM is not bad but, every video I have seen recently ALWAYS checks for power, ground, and communication links to the module BEFORE condemning a module.

No. That would be in the SCCM As-builts, not the BCM. The blocks will start with 724.
